Texas LMFT Supervision
Sonia Medina, M.S., LMFT-S, LPC
Hi! My name is Sonia and I am happy you’re here. I am honored that you are considering me to be your license supervisor.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist- Supervisor in the state of Texas. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.
Currently, I work primarily with teenagers and adolescents providing talk therapy and play-based services as well as support to parents and caregivers.
My earliest experiences include providing parenting support to teenage mothers and to parents of pre-k aged children in a children’s shelter and at an elementary school. My recent clinical experiences include providing counseling services to children, adults, and families in a residential shelter, community counseling centers, and private practice.
As a therapist, I work from a post-modern, systemic, and strengths-based approach using collaborative therapy, strengths-based therapy, and narrative therapy. I believe in a non-pathological, decolonizing approach and that everyone deserves access to mental health resources. My lived experiences as a daughter of immigrants and a first generation college student have heavily impacted my professional and personal development. I speak English, Spanish, and sometimes Spanglish.
